How fatherhood changed what I care about
Used to be all about my career, making partner at the law firm, proving something to everyone. Got promoted to senior associate right after my son was born and you know what? Didn't even care. I negotiated to work from home 3 days a week instead of celebrating the promotion. My old self would be disgusted but current me is way happier. Miss the ambition sometimes but don't miss the empty feeling that came with it.
What changed your mind? Was it a specific moment or just gradual realization?
