I quit my career job and became a stay at home dad. Ask me anything I guess.
So I was a corporate guy for 12 years making decent money. Wife made more so when our first was born we did the math and decided I'd stay home. Best decision I ever made but also weirdest transition of my life. I miss the structure, the validation of doing well at work, and honestly just being around adults. But I've got this relationship with my kids that I never would have had. I'm teaching my son to read right now and that beats any promotion I ever got. Still figuring out the identity piece though. When people ask what I do for work I still feel like I need to explain myself.
I'm genuinely interested in how you're handling the identity shift. I've always been the working dad and I think I'd struggle with not having that. No judgment just curious how you adapted.
