I used to be the fun guy, now I'm the responsible one
This is weird to admit but becoming a dad made me actually care about being a good person. I'm more patient, more thoughtful, way less selfish. In college I was kind of a mess - thought about mostly myself. Now I'm thinking about how every decision affects my kids. I like who I'm becoming but sometimes I look at my buddies still doing their thing and there's this weird feeling. Not regret exactly but like mourning the old me? Anyone else deal with this?
This hits hard man. I felt the same shift happen to me. Like suddenly winning at parenting became more important than being the guy who could party on a Tuesday. It's a good change but it took me a minute to accept it.
