Left corporate life and became a stay-at-home dad
Made the jump two years ago. Was making good money but missed everything. First year was weird because my identity was so tied to my job. Had to figure out who I was without the title and paycheck. Now I do school pickups, help with homework, make dinner. My kids get more of me. Money is tighter but honestly I don't miss the stress or the 60 hour weeks. My wife makes enough to cover us and I'm happier than I've been in a decade.
That identity shift is real man. Took me a minute to figure out who I was outside of work too when I went part time. But honestly seeing my kid every single day at the park with all our regular crew now? No amount of money compares. You're doing the right thing.
