Left corporate rat race and I'm happy now
Ten years grinding in corporate America, the stress, the endless meetings, the meaningless work. Burned out hard at 38. Quit and honestly had to rebuild my entire identity because so much of who I was got wrapped up in that job title. Now I do consulting part time, much more flexibility, less money but way less stress. Taking the kids to school now, actually remember their friends' names. Still figuring out who I am without the job but it's been a relief.
Ten years is a long time to be miserable for a paycheck. What does a typical day look like now that you're out? I'm curious how different the daily grind actually feels.
This resonates hard. I'm still in it but this is the goal. The endless meetings, the politics, the stuff that doesn't matter. How long did it take before you actually felt like yourself again?
