Left corporate rat race to be a stay at home dad

So I made the jump last year. Was making good money in finance but was always stressed, never home, missed everything with the kids. My wife had a good stable job so we decided I'd stay home. First few months were weird, felt like I lost part of my identity honestly. But now I'm building a new one. I'm more present with my kids, our family is happier, and I'm doing some freelance work from home that pays enough. I miss the paycheck and the corporate title less than I thought I would.

This takes real courage. A lot of dads are stuck in the rat race because they feel like they have to be, so actually getting out is impressive. How are your kids responding to having you around more?

Stay at home dad here too and couldn't agree more. The stress melts away when you realize what actually matters. Money doesn't buy back the time you miss.
