Lost 50 pounds this year and I don't even recognize myself
Two years ago my doctor told me I was heading for a heart attack if I didn't make changes. I was almost 280 pounds, couldn't play with my kids without getting winded, hated how I looked. Started small, just cutting out soda, then I joined a gym. My buddy from work started coming with me and it made it easier to show up. After about 6 months I was actually enjoying it. Did a half marathon last month which I never thought would be possible. I feel like a different person physically but also mentally. More confident, more energy, better mood overall. I miss the convenience of just eating whatever but honestly the feeling of being healthy is way better. My kids call me the "fast dad" now because I can actually run around with them.
50 pounds is incredible man. That's a serious commitment. What was the biggest thing you changed - the diet, the exercise, or just the mindset shift?
