Lost 80 pounds, gained a kid obsessed with my old body - weird
Got in the best shape of my life last year. Cut out junk, hit the gym hard, whole thing. Then found out my wife was pregnant and the motivation just shifted, you know? Still stay active but not like I was. My 8yo found photos of me shirtless from last year and keeps asking when I'm gonna look like that again and if I'm getting fat. Weird moment for sure. I'm healthy and strong now in a dad way but it's this strange grief over old me mixed with like, contentment with where I'm at. Never thought gaining weight as a parent would hit my psychology this hard.
This made me laugh out loud. Wait till they're old enough to understand you got in shape TO be healthy and around longer for them. That narrative shift will come.
