Moved from city to suburbs and became that guy
Never thought I'd be the suburban dad with the minivan and the lawn I care about. Was a city guy, thought suburbs were boring. Had our second kid and realized we needed space and better schools. Five years later I'm out here mowing on Saturday mornings, knowing my neighbors, going to HOA meetings. Do I miss the energy of the city? Sometimes. But I don't miss the noise, the packed apartments, feeling like I couldn't breathe. Now my kids can run around outside safely and that's worth whatever coolness I lost.
Welcome to the club brother. Second kid was our tipping point too. Now I'm out here actually caring about my lawn and I don't even recognize myself, but my kids are happy and that's what matters.
