Moved from the city to small town, culture shock is real
Wife wanted to be closer to her parents so we picked up and moved to rural Montana from NYC. The quiet is NICE but dude I miss pizza that doesn't suck, having options for anything, and just being around different kinds of people. Kids are way more outdoor focused now which is good. They're not glued to screens. But I'm bored out of my mind and job market is terrible. Anyone else regret this or does it get better?
The quiet part will get to you before anything else. No delivery options, no late night options, everyone knows your business. But for kids it's usually amazing. Fresh air, space, community. Give it a year before you decide if it was worth it.
