My body changed and so did my pride
Used to hit the gym five times a week, was in the best shape of my life. Now I'm lucky if I get 20 minutes on the treadmill twice a week when my wife can watch the kids. I'm heavier, slower, everything hurts. But then my daughter asked me to pick her up and run around and I did it no problem. Different kind of strong I guess. Still sucks sometimes but I'm okay with it now.
Honestly I've made peace with the fact that getting in shape happens in phases. Right now the phase is survival mode. Maybe when they're older I get back to it.
