Never thought I'd be the dad who cares about school projects
10 years ago I was a lazy guy. Minimum effort on everything. Didn't really care about much beyond myself. Becoming a dad forced me to grow up but somewhere along the way it stopped being forced. Now I volunteer at school events. I help with homework and actually take pride when my kid does well. I exercise because I want to be around for them. I've become someone I actually respect. That's new.
This is real growth right here. I went through something similar. Kids have a way of making you want to be better, even if you didn't think you cared 10 years ago. What project ended up changing your mind?
