Quit corporate job to start own business - best and scariest decision ever
Took the leap 18 months ago. Left a stable VP role with health insurance and a 401k to start a consulting firm. My wife thought I was insane. First 6 months were terrifying, checking my bank account every day, not sleeping great. But we made it past the break even point and now I'm actually excited about work again. I miss the structure and the paychecks honestly, and there's way more stress managing clients and cash flow. But I'm home by 5 most days, I see my kids, and I'm building something mine. The financial stress is real though, not gonna lie about that part.
That takes real courage. A lot of people talk about doing this but don't actually pull the trigger. How's your family handling the uncertainty?
