Sold my motorcycle, bought a minivan. Here's what I've learned.
Had that bike for 8 years. Felt like freedom on two wheels. Got married, had kids, and one day realized I hadn't ridden it in 6 months because I was scared of leaving my wife as a widow. Finally pulled the trigger and sold it last month. The minivan is embarrassing to admit I like, but god the convenience is unreal. Sliding doors, cup holders everywhere, built in entertainment system. I miss the identity of being the "cool guy" but honestly being the reliable dad who can haul 4 kids and their soccer gear feels better than I expected.
The motorcycle to minivan pipeline is real. Sounds like you made peace with it though which is what matters. That's maturity right there.
