Stay at home dad for 5 years - going back to work next month
My wife made more money so it made sense for me to stay home with the kids. Honestly it was the best decision we made. But now they're both in school and I'm feeling lost. Started looking for work and just got an offer. Nervous as hell about the transition but also excited to use my brain for something other than snack preparation. I'll miss the flexibility and being there for everything, but I think I need this. I'm not the dad who stayed home anymore and that's ok. Anyone else make this switch?
Going back after five years is going to be weird. You're gonna crush it at work but also maybe miss the day to day stuff more than you think you will. It's okay to feel all the things.
