Stopped drinking and everything got weird

Three years sober now. When I first quit I thought I'd lose my whole personality and all my friends. Turns out a lot of my friends were just... drinking buddies. Some stuck around sober, most didn't. I was terrified I'd be boring at parties and it turns out I was the boring one before just standing around drunk talking about the same stories. What I miss is being able to turn my brain off. What I gained is my kids actually wanting to hang out with me on weekends instead of me sleeping till noon. Also I'm not a massive asshole to my wife anymore which is pretty great.
