Switched careers from construction to desk job with a newborn and honestly its weird
Bad knees and a bad back finally caught up with me. I was making decent money but couldnt even pick up my son without pain. Took a pay cut to get into accounting, which I hated at first. Two years in and my body feels way better but I miss the feeling of building something physical, you know? Miss the crew I worked with. But I get to actually be present for my kids without being exhausted and thats worth it.
The transition from construction to desk work hit different for me too. My back started screaming in my early 40s and I knew something had to change. How's the adjustment been otherwise besides the physical stuff?
