So I used to have this big group of friends and we'd hang out constantly, bar nights, road trips, just being stupid. After the baby came maybe half of them actually stuck around and made an effort to be part of this new life. The others just kind of faded and honestly it stung at first but now I get it. We're living completely different lives. Made peace with it but man it's weird having a smaller circle now.
The brutal part is some friendships end not because anyone did anything wrong, just because your priorities literally cannot align anymore. Those road trip guys are still texting me about weekend plans like I have zero responsibilities lol.
This is so real. Had the same friend group for like 15 years and after kids came along we just stopped clicking. They wanted to do spontaneous Vegas trips and I'm over here needing 3 weeks notice to find a babysitter.
Did you end up finding new friends with kids or are you still pretty isolated? I'm in the same boat and struggling to figure out if I should just accept that friend era is over or if there's life on the other side.
The friend group purge is real and it sucks but honestly some of those friendships were kind of surface level anyway. When you have limited time you figure out who actually matters to you.

Man this hits different. I kept trying to maintain the old friendships for way too long, saying yes to stuff I couldn't actually do, canceling last minute. Finally just had to have an honest conversation about where I'm at in life now.
