The identity crisis nobody talks about
Before kids I was 'the guy who had it together.' Had a sick apartment, went to concerts, dated around, had opinions about coffee beans. Now I'm the guy explaining to my 7 year old why we can't get a pet llama for the third time this week. I miss the coffee snobbery but I don't miss the loneliness. This is better even when it sucks.
The beautiful chaos of becoming a dad means saying goodbye to parts of who you were, but you're not disappearing bro, you're evolving. Those opinions about coffee beans? They'll still be there if you want them, just maybe fewer concerts for a while.
