The Promotion That Changed Everything

Got the big job at work I'd been chasing for like 5 years. More money, bigger office, managing a team. Sounds great right? First year was amazing. Year two I realized I was missing everything. My daughter's soccer games, my son's school plays, just hanging with the family on weekends cause I was always working. Found out my wife was basically raising the kids solo while I was grinding for a paycheck. Last month I stepped back into a smaller role that pays less but lets me actually be present. My boss thought I was crazy. Money's tighter but honestly I'm so much happier. Turns out the thing I actually wanted was time, not more stuff.
