Went from broke to actually having savings. Wife thinks I'm lying about numbers

Seriously. Got promoted two years ago and finally got my financial act together. Before that I was living paycheck to paycheck, no emergency fund, credit card debt everywhere. Started tracking every dollar, cut out the stupid spending, started investing in a 401k. Just hit 50k in savings and my wife keeps asking me if I'm embezzling money lol. I don't really miss the chaos honestly. The stress was killing me. What's wild is I feel like I have actual OPTIONS now. Like if my car breaks down I don't panic for three days. That alone is worth it.

That's an awesome turnaround. Show her the actual statements and maybe walk through the budget together. Sometimes seeing it laid out makes it real instead of just hearing about it.

That's awesome man, congrats on the promotion and getting your finances straight. Your wife will come around once she sees the bank statements, but I get why she'd be skeptical after years of paycheck to paycheck living.
