Went from completely out of shape to running a half marathon
Used to be the dad who couldn't keep up with his kids at the park. Got winded walking up stairs. Then my 6 year old asked why I was always so tired and something just clicked. Started running 3 months ago, couldn't even do a mile. Just finished a half marathon last weekend. I'm not saying I'm some fitness guy now but I can actually play tag with my kids without dying. The physical change is obvious but the mental shift is bigger. I feel like I'm actually taking care of myself which makes me feel like I'm taking care of my family better too. Plus I have an hour to myself every morning which is huge for my anxiety. Miss sleeping in but honestly don't miss being out of breath all the time.
This is inspiring honestly. I want to get more active with my kids but I'm in no shape for it. Did you start with walking or just jump into running?
