Went From Work Travel Every Week to Remote

Three years of barely being home. Kids grew up without me really knowing them. Got laid off during covid and took a remote job out of desperation. Now I get to drop them at school, actually know their teachers, cook dinner with them. Took like 6 months for them to even trust I'd be there. Miss the hotels and status stuff sometimes but watching my 5 year old's face when I pick him up from school every day... no amount of travel perks compare.
