Went from working 60 hours a week to actually knowing my kids
I was that guy. Always grinding, always on my phone during dinner, missed my daughter's soccer games. Had a health scare last year that made me rethink everything. Negotiated a remote position with better hours. Been 8 months now and my relationship with my kids is completely different. They actually want to hang out with me. My marriage got better too. Miss the ego boost of being the high performer at work but nothing compares to what I gained.
That health scare hits different man. I'm co-parenting three kids across two houses and I've learned the hard way that being present matters way more than grinding yourself into the ground. Glad you're getting those soccer games in now.
