What I gained vs what I lost going from corporate rat race to farmer
Spent 12 years climbing the ladder, making good money, miserable every single day. Wife finally said something had to give. We sold the house in the suburbs, bought land, started farming. Lost the fancy cars and the salary. Gained my marriage back, time with my kids, and actually sleeping at night. Do I worry about money sometimes? Sure. But the peace? Can't put a price on it. I'm home for dinner every night and my kids know who I am.
This hits different man. I'm still in the corporate grind here in Denver and some days I wonder if the paycheck is worth missing bedtimes. What was the hardest part of actually making the jump? Like financially, how did you bridge that gap with the family?
