What I miss most after leaving corporate

Quit my six figure job last year to start my own thing and be more present with the family. Best decision but also weirdest adjustment. What I miss: the validation, the paychecks hitting like clockwork, people calling me an expert. What I gained: actually knowing what my kids did at school, not being a zombie on weekends, time to think. Some days I'm terrified about money but then my 4 year old asks me to play and I remember why I did this. Still figuring out who I am without the business card title though.

The fridge gallery here grew exponentially after I started working from home more. It's wild how much you miss just being there for the little moments. Glad you made the leap.

This is huge man. Did you take a pay cut or find a way to make it work financially? I've been thinking about something similar but the numbers scare me. How long did it take before you felt like you made the right call?

Man this resonates. I do the carpool thing and even that extra time in the car with the kids beats sitting in traffic alone going to an office. What do you miss least about corporate?

That takes guts. How'd the income transition go? I've thought about doing something similar but the six figure thing is hard to walk away from even if the job isn't worth it.
