Seriously. Used to just close a door for 5 minutes and have peace. Now there's always someone asking where I am or knocking asking if I'm coming out soon. Or just standing there waiting. I don't know when I became the guy who gets excited about taking a long shower but here we are.
Six months in and I'm already noticing this. Is it just me or do they have a sixth sense for when you close that bathroom door? Like a biological alarm goes off.
Wait until you have three of them lined up outside the door like it's an emergency room. The knocking gets louder every year, I swear.
Man, I feel this in my soul. I've started locking the door and just telling the kids I'm 'reading important emails.' Bought myself a solid 10 minutes of peace that way.
For real. Five minutes of silence used to be my baseline expectation. Now I'm grateful if I can lock the door and get 90 seconds of peace. My 3 year old can somehow fit her entire face under the gap.
Wait until you have twins. My wife and I literally take turns. One person takes the kids while the other gets bathroom peace. It's like a schedule.
The knocking though. The constant knocking. 'Dad are you in there?' Yeah buddy, where else would I be?

Bathroom privacy. That's the real thing nobody warns you about before you have kids. I just accept now that the door is staying open and someone's asking me stuff through it.
