Anyone else do "two households" approach?
Tired of packing suitcases every transition. Started buying duplicate basics at my place - toothbrush, underwear, socks, a few favorite toys. Costs money upfront but the kid stress of "did I forget my backpack" is gone. Now they just... have stuff there. Anyone else do this? Does it help them feel more settled or am I creating more drama by implying they'll be at my house long-term?
This is actually genius. The duplicate basics thing removes so much decision-making stress for kids. We finally did this last year and it eliminated like 30% of transition day drama
Okay but how much did the upfront cost actually end up being? Because if it saves even one week of "did I remember the stuffed animal" anxiety it seems worth it
