Tired of packing suitcases every transition. Started buying duplicate basics at my place - toothbrush, underwear, socks, a few favorite toys. Costs money upfront but the kid stress of "did I forget my backpack" is gone. Now they just... have stuff there. Anyone else do this? Does it help them feel more settled or am I creating more drama by implying they'll be at my house long-term?
This feels like such a simple thing but it's actually really thoughtful. You're basically creating a secure home base at both places instead of making them shuttle their whole life back and forth
lol I did this and honestly the "favorite toys at both houses" thing meant my kid was actually excited to go to both places instead of sad about leaving stuff. Totally recommend
We do basically the same thing. Have a full set of clothes, shoes, toys at each place. Game changer. My daughter doesn't stress about forgetting stuff and honestly I'm less stressed too
