Best custody schedule for kids who hate transitions?

Our current 2-2-3 rotation is NOT working for my sensitive kids (7 and 9). Too many transitions, they're anxious all the time about whose house they're at next. My ex is willing to try something new.

I've heard 2-2-5-5 is better for older kids. Anyone use that? Or should we look into like a week-on-week-off thing? What's actually helped your kids feel more settled?
