Celebrated my daughter's birthday with her mom there

Honestly wasn't sure how it would go but we both showed up for our daughter's 8th birthday party and kept it civil for her sake. Even had a few laughs. Didn't think we'd ever get to this point after how ugly things got. My daughter seemed genuinely happy having both of us there without the tension. Might be the first time since the divorce that I felt like we did something right for the kids. Small win I guess.

Honestly that takes a lot of maturity from both of you. I know from experience that co-parenting events can feel tense, but your daughter got to have both her parents there celebrating her. That's a win.

That's really great to hear man. Co-parenting situations can be so awkward at birthday parties but when you both show up and keep it about your daughter, that's what matters. She's lucky to have parents who can do that.

This is the win right here. It's not always easy to work with your ex for the kids' sake but when you do it pays off. Your daughter gets to see both her parents supporting her and that's everything.
