Child support modification after job loss

Lost my job last month and I'm still paying the same child support amount. Money is tight and I can't keep this up much longer. My ex is making good money so I'm thinking about filing to reduce it but our relationship is already rocky. Has anyone gone through a modification? What's the process like and does it affect custody at all?

I've been through the co-parenting adjustment thing and trust me, the sooner you get it documented with the court the better. Most judges get that life happens. Keep records of your job search so you can show you're actively trying.

Tough spot man. I'm juggling the finances with two kids on my end and it's always a balancing act. Get that paperwork started now though, don't wait - the longer you go the harder it gets to explain the gap.

Man, that's rough. You need to file for modification with the court ASAP - job loss is a legit reason to adjust payments. Don't just stop paying or fall behind, that'll make things way worse for you.
