We're looking to get off texting for logistics since every conversation turns into an argument. Someone mentioned OurFamilyWizard but it seems pricey. Has anyone used it? What about the free alternatives like TalkingParents or Custody X?
we use Coparently and like it way better than OFW. cleaner interface, easier to track stuff. not free but cheaper
the pricey part of OFW is actually worth it because it forces you to be professional. when you know it's being logged and timestamped, people (including you) act different. less snark. more functional
There's also Coparently (free version is decent) and 2Houses. Both less expensive than OFW if that's the hang-up
Getting off texting is huge. Every logistics text with my ex somehow becomes 'why did you let him have ice cream at 8pm' within 3 messages
OurFamilyWizard is worth the cost if texting turns every logistics conversation into a fight. you get a paper trail, it's more formal somehow, makes people less likely to be petty
honest answer: the free apps are clunky but they work. used Google Calendar shared view for like a year. not fancy but it stopped the arguments because everything was just... visible
we went from texting to a shared Notes app and even that tiny change reduced arguments by like 60%. anything that gets you out of the texting loop will help

OurFamilyWizard is solid but yeah pricey. We use Google Shared Calendar + a Notes doc and it works fine for us. Not fancy but free and the kid can't delete his schedule by accident
