Co-parenting communication is killing me

She only wants to communicate about the kids through text but every simple question becomes this back and forth argument. I asked about our son's soccer practice time and she somehow made it about money. How do you guys handle this? I'm trying to keep things civil for the kids but it feels impossible sometimes. Been separated 2 years now and it's not getting easier.

Some people just need the control of a text thread. You could suggest an app like OurFamilyWizard that keeps everything documented and professional. Takes the emotion out of it.

Kill them with kindness in those texts. Short, direct answers with no extra details for her to pick apart. Don't escalate no matter what she sends.

Text communication with custody stuff can turn into a nightmare real fast. Every message gets misread and suddenly you're arguing about nothing. Have you tried asking for a call instead?

This is so frustrating. Text strips away tone and everything becomes a fight. Keep your messages short, factual, and unemotional. Don't engage if she's being combative.
