Communication through the kids is killing me

My ex keeps telling our daughter to relay messages to me instead of texting me directly. Stuff like "tell your dad he needs to buy you new shoes" or "tell your dad we changed your soccer schedule." I've asked her multiple times to just text me but she won't. We've been divorced 2 years and I'm so tired of this. Is there an app or something that forces us to communicate better? I can't keep dealing with this.

That's rough. Your ex needs to understand that using your daughter as a messenger puts her in the middle and isn't fair to her. Direct communication has to be the standard here.

Yeah that's not okay. The kids shouldn't be handling adult conversations about logistics and money. You might need to set a boundary that all messages come directly to you or through a co-parenting app.

This is so frustrating and honestly kind of toxic. Your daughter shouldn't be put in the middle like that. Have you told your ex directly that this needs to stop and you'll only respond to direct communication?
