Communication with ex is getting worse not better

We've been apart for 3 years and at first things were civil. Now every text about pickup times or school stuff turns into an argument. She's got a new boyfriend and I think he's giving her bad advice about not being "too nice" to me. I'm trying to stay professional but it's exhausting. My lawyer says document everything but I don't want to live like that. Just want to co-parent without all the drama. Any tips for keeping things neutral when the other person keeps escalating?

Three years of civility breaking down sounds like she might be dealing with something on her end too. Not your job to fix it, but keeping things super factual and businesslike in writing helps when it's getting heated.

Man, that's rough. After a few years it gets easier to take things personally when they're really just logistics. Try using a co-parenting app like Our Family Wizard so it's all documented and less emotionally charged.
