Communication with my ex is impossible

We split three years ago and everything goes through lawyers because we can't talk about anything without it turning into a fight. Problem is the kids are suffering because basic stuff like school pickups and medical appointments becomes this whole negotiation. Tried to suggest we use one of those coparenting apps but she said no. Is there anything else I can do to make this work better for the kids?

I'm not there yet but I'm terrified this will be my situation eventually. How much are you spending on lawyers to work through this? Feel like that money could go to the kids instead.

Three years and still going through lawyers sounds exhausting and expensive. I feel for you man. Have you considered trying a mediator instead? Not to minimize what you're dealing with but sometimes a neutral third party helps when you and your ex just trigger each other.

This is rough. My ex and I actually worked through this by setting strict guidelines about what we talk about directly and what goes through email. All logistics and money through the apps and docs, personal stuff stays off limits. Helped a lot.
