Custody agreement ambiguity is killing me

Quick question: what counts as "reasonable notice" for schedule changes? Mine says 48 hours but my ex keeps texting me at 9pm asking if she can have the kids an extra day starting tomorrow. I usually say yes because I don't want to be that guy, but I'm starting to resent it. Am I being unreasonable to enforce the actual agreement, or is flexibility more important? This happens like twice a month and it's messing with my ability to plan anything.

48 hours is pretty standard in most agreements but it depends on what the change is. Emergency schedule changes usually get more flexibility. What kind of changes are you dealing with?

Get it in writing every single time. Doesn't matter what you agree to verbally, document everything or it will haunt you later.

I feel this in my soul. The ambiguity is worse than a strict agreement sometimes. Consider sending a text summary after every conversation about changes so there's a paper trail.

Talk to your family law attorney about this. Ambiguity is exactly what causes problems down the road. Better to clarify now than fight about it later.

48 hours is usually calendar days FYI, not business days. Just want to make sure you're interpreting it right.
