Custody arrangement is unfair but I can't afford to fight it

I got stuck with a schedule that's basically weekends only and I hate it. My ex makes more money and got a better lawyer. I love my kids but only seeing them 2 days a week is killing me. Lawyer says we could fight it but it would cost 15k and no guarantee we'd win. Just venting mostly. Anyone been in similar situations?

This situation sucks and I'm sorry you're dealing with it. Make the most of your weekends though - quality over quantity sometimes. And keep your options open for the future if your financial situation improves.

Weekends only hits different and I feel this in my bones. Have you looked into any local legal aid services? Some of them do pro bono work on custody stuff if money's the barrier. Worth exploring before you give up.

That's rough. Even if you can't change the whole schedule right now, sometimes you can negotiate specific makeup days or longer stretches during summer. Document everything though because circumstances change.
