Custody hearing is next month, terrified

My lawyer says I have a decent case for 50/50 but the thought of sitting in front of a judge explaining why I deserve equal time with my kids is making me sick. Her family has money for a better lawyer and I keep thinking the worst. Anyone been through this? What was it actually like? I just want to be a real dad to them, not just every other weekend.
