Custody schedule is killing me

I have the kids every other week and it's actually worse than I thought it would be. My ex is being reasonable about it but switching back and forth every 7 days feels chaotic for everyone. The kids are upset every time they have to switch, I'm spending way too much money on two of everything, and honestly I feel like I'm missing their actual lives on the weeks I don't have them. Anyone else struggling with 50/50 custody? Does it get better?
