Custody schedule question for holiday season

Currently have 50/50 custody but our agreement doesn't specify holiday arrangements. Divorce was finalized in March. My ex wants both kids for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day but I was hoping to have them Christmas Eve at least. Kids are 6 and 9. How did you guys handle this? Should I push back or is that unreasonable?

This stuff matters more than people think. Make sure whatever you decide protects your time with the kids and is actually doable. Doesn't have to be complicated but it needs to be clear.

Tough spot. My advice is try talking to your ex first about what makes sense - alternating years, splitting the day, whatever works for your family situation. Keeps it less adversarial than going straight to court modifications.

Get a lawyer to document something in writing NOW, even if you and your ex are getting along. I thought we had an informal understanding about holidays and it got messy real fast.
