So I have the kids Christmas Eve through New Years per our agreement but ex wants to switch so she gets Christmas morning. This is the third year she's asking for last minute changes. I don't mind flexibility but I feel like I need to hold the line here or she'll keep doing this. Anyone else deal with this? How do you handle the holiday stuff without being the bad guy?
Are you guys able to negotiate on different days instead? Like could you take her New Years Eve through like Jan 2nd or something? Usually there's room to shuffle things if both parents are willing.
Been there man. I'd push back politely but firmly. The kids need consistency. If you agreed to those dates, she needs to respect that unless there's a real emergency. Maybe offer a different makeup date but don't let the schedule get eroded piece by piece.
How much notice did she give you? If it's last minute that's a red flag. Co-parenting only works if you can both stick to what you agreed on.
Holiday swaps are always stressful because everyone wants the good days. Whatever you decide, make sure the kids know the plan well in advance so they're not confused.

I'd use a coparenting app to document whatever you agree to. Makes it way clearer than text messages when things get fuzzy later. Plus it shows good faith effort to cooperate.
