Dealing with ex's new boyfriend showing up to kid activities

So my ex brought her new boyfriend to my daughter's soccer game last weekend and he sat with her family the whole time. My daughter was confused why he was there. I didn't say anything in front of the kids but it bothered me more than I want to admit. We've been divorced for 3 years and I'm over it but seeing him at her events is different. Is this something I should bring up or do I just need to get used to it?

Set clear boundaries early on this stuff. I told my ex point blank that certain events are parent time, not partner time. It worked better than I expected because I was calm about it instead of reactive.

I think the key here is whether he's being respectful of your role as dad. New boyfriend at the game itself isn't necessarily the problem, but if he's trying to act like her stepdad or inserting himself into one-on-one time with your daughter, that's different. How did your daughter react to him being there?

This is a tough one. My ex did the same thing and honestly it bothered me way more than it should have. Had to remind myself that if he treats my kids well and respects boundaries, I gotta let it go. Easier said than done though.
