Does anyone actually use a parenting coordinator?
Our custody agreement includes the option for a "parenting coordinator" if we get stuck on decisions. We're having trouble agreeing on our daughter's extracurricular activities and our lawyer mentioned using one instead of going back to court. Seems expensive but better than lawyers? Has anyone actually done this? Is it worth it or just another middleman taking your money?
Parenting coordinator is worth trying if you're stuck. It's basically a mediator who knows custody law and can actually make decisions if you deadlock. Cheaper than going back to court.
What kind of activities are you fighting about? Because sometimes a coordinator's fresh eyes helps you realize you're both being reasonable and there's actually a compromise.
