Ex is constantly late for pickups, what can I do?

This is the third time this month. She's supposed to pick up the kids at 5pm on Friday and doesn't show until 630 or 7. I have plans, they get confused, and it's messing with our schedule. I don't want to be that guy but I'm getting frustrated. Do I need to document this? Should I talk to my lawyer or try talking to her first? Any advice on how to handle this without making it worse?

Man, that's frustrating. I'd start documenting these late pickups with dates and times, then bring it up at a calm moment or through a mediator if you have one. Sets a paper trail and shows it's a pattern.

Yeah, this would kill my ice cream run tradition with my boys. Have you tried texting her 30 mins before to confirm she's on her way? Sometimes a heads up reminder helps, or at least you know sooner if she's running late.
