Ex keeps changing pickup times last minute - ruining my plans with the kids

This is the third time this month she's texted me an hour before pickup saying she needs an extra hour or two. I get it, life happens, but I had plans this weekend. Made dinner reservations, got my oldest excited for the arcade. Now I'm the bad guy if I say no but I'm also frustrated that our schedule means nothing. What do I do here? Do I just accept that 50/50 custody really means nothing?

That's frustrating, man. Three times in a month is a pattern, not just life happening. You might need to have a calm conversation about what the actual schedule should be so you can actually plan things with your kids.

Tough spot. I get that emergencies happen, but your plans with the kids matter too. Might be worth documenting these changes and bringing it up when things are calm, not in the heat of the moment.

I feel this hard. When you're juggling three kids across two houses like I am, last minute changes throw everything off. Maybe try setting a hard deadline for schedule changes, like 24 hours notice? Helps keep things fair for everyone.
