Ex keeps changing the schedule last minute and it's affecting the kids

This is my third year doing 50/50 and my ex seems to think the schedule is just a suggestion. Last week she kept my son an extra day without asking, this week she wants to switch weekends because of her boyfriend's plans. My daughter is getting confused about when she's supposed to be where. I try to be flexible because I want the kids to see both of us, but I'm starting to resent that I'm the only one treating the schedule seriously. Any tips on how to address this without sounding controlling? I just want consistency for them.

Document everything. Seriously. Every cancelled plan, every reschedule. If this keeps happening your lawyer needs the proof when it comes time to modify the agreement. My ex tried the same thing until I had the receipts.

Kids need consistency way more than they need flexibility. Even if rescheduling seems 'no big deal' to your ex, your kids are literally learning to plan their week around the promise of time with you. That matters.

Three years in and still dealing with this? Time for a conversation or a lawyer about enforcing the actual agreement. You're being reasonable, she's testing boundaries.
