Ex not following custody schedule again

So this is the third time in two weeks that my ex has asked to swap weekends last minute. I get that life happens and I try to be flexible, but I'm tired of rearranging my schedule every other week. I have plans, work commitments, and honestly I was looking forward to some one-on-one time with my kids this weekend. How do you guys handle this without being the bad guy? I don't want to be difficult but I also feel like boundaries matter here.

That's exhausting. Are you able to set some boundaries about last minute swaps? Like maybe agree to one per month but no more? Just so you can actually plan around the schedule.

Third time in two weeks is past flexibility, man. You gotta set a boundary or she'll keep testing it. Your kids need to know they can count on the schedule too.

I feel this hard. Those moments with my kids are sacred and when they get moved around last minute it messes with all of us. Document it and maybe have that conversation about what flexibility actually looks like.

I feel for you. My ex does similar stuff and honestly the best thing I did was stop being flexible about it. Sounds harsh but it protects your time with your kid and gives them the stability they need.

Third time in two weeks is rough man. At some point you gotta have the conversation about consistency. Kids need to know the schedule is solid. I know it's not always easy but your son needs that reliability.
