Ex wants to change pickup schedule last minute all the time

This is driving me crazy. Every week my ex texts me 2-3 days before my scheduled pickup with 'Can you take them Friday instead of Wednesday?' or 'I need them back early Sunday.' I get that life happens but I need some stability, especially since I have them scheduled for soccer and other activities. How do you guys handle this? Do I just need to be more flexible or is it ok to push back and say 'no, stick to the schedule'?

Man, I feel this. My ex does the same thing and it throws off my whole week of planning with the kids. I started responding to last minute changes with 'I can't accommodate that' unless it's actually an emergency. Set a boundary and stick to it. Your time is valuable too.

Have you tried setting up a shared calendar app? Something like Google Calendar or a co-parenting app might help establish clearer boundaries. At least then there's a written record if things get messy.

Honestly the last minute stuff drives me crazy too. Started charging a cancellation fee type situation, nothing crazy, just makes my ex think twice before texting me last second changes.

This has been my biggest frustration too. I finally told my ex that I need at least 10 days notice for any changes or it's not happening. Made it clear it's not about being difficult, it's about being reliable to my kids. They need to know when dad's picking them up.
