Ex won't follow custody schedule - what are my options?

Been dealing with this for months. Our custody agreement says kids are with me Wed-Fri and every other weekend. My ex keeps picking them up early, dropping them off late, or just not showing up at all when it's her time. When I say something she acts like I'm being controlling. The kids are getting confused about the schedule. Do I need to lawyer up again or is there something else I can try?

This is tough territory. Before legal action gets expensive, have you tried a co-parenting app like OurFamilyWizard? Forces everything in writing and sometimes just knowing communication is documented makes people step up.

I hate saying this but document everything. Every missed pickup, every late return, every text about "can he stay longer." Screenshot it all. It sounds bureaucratic and cold but if this goes to court you need evidence. Also consider if there's a mutual friend who could help mediate first - sometimes that works before lawyers get involved.

You've got to have a calm conversation first if you haven't already - sometimes people genuinely don't realize they're doing it or think it's not a big deal. But if she knows and keeps doing it, yeah, legal enforcement might be your only option. Sorry you're dealing with this.

This is serious stuff man. Months of schedule violations is beyond just being relaxed about timing. You might need to document every instance - dates, times, what she said. Then talk to a lawyer about enforcement options. I know that sucks but your custody agreement exists for a reason.

That's rough. Have you documented all the violations? Keep a record with dates and times. Your lawyer will need that if you end up back in court. Also look into whether your state allows for makeup time provisions or if you can add enforcement language to the agreement.

I'm dealing with similar stuff and it's exhausting. The kids feel it too even if they don't say it. How much flexibility are you able to do on your end without getting walked all over? Sometimes the suck of negotiating beats court costs.
